Translation - why should I pay you tax?
Voiced by Kittur Rani Chenamma against British demanding high tax
Kittur ,a princely state in modern day Karnataka
Was faced by unjust Doctrine of lapse( forceful acquisition of legal title ) aka
She wrote a letter to Bombay constituency office of east India company against the policy
However ,her appeals were disregarded and a female was then treated easy
She lost her spouse Raja Mallsarja followed by her adopted son
Still she kept fighting and feared none
Well trained in horse riding , was sword fighting fairy
Her skills were even beyond Spear throw and archery
Kittur army was able to fend off the first wave of war seize
She leveraged British hostages for Treaty of peace
Her trust was mislead by known source
Her army was deprived of Resource
Kittur was rich state with jewels and precious stone
British wanted to capture and loot the wealth all alone
She was captured and later passed away in captivity
But her life is example of patriotism and dignity
From being the first woman rebel against British front
Till her statue unveiled by first woman president
Her statue stands in front of parliament dom
Reminding law makers the cost of freedom !!
